Gaahnaama-e Honar Magazine
The first time, Gaahnaama-e Honar has started its publications in year 2000 under the editorship of Mr. Rahraw Omarzad. The staff members of this magazine started their activities right in the middle of the time when the arts subject was omitted from school curriculum and the arts such as music, cinema, photography, sculpturing and painting were officially stopped by the government at that time.
In fact, this served as the main motive of Gaahnaama-e Honar publication. Although some artists felt it too dangerous to publish such a publication and therefore prevented writing and interviewing with this magazine, despite all these challenges we have kept moving ahead.
Finally, the first version of the magazine was published in 72 pages with limited resources in hand by the support of Afghan artists who lived in Kabul and Peshawar. Aftermath, the press inside and outside the borders never suffer from lack of an arts magazine.
Publications of Gaahnaama-e Honar continued with the further funding entities as staged bellow:
UN-Habitat ‚ Goethe Institute‚ Center for Contemporary Arts Norway and Prince Claus Found Nederland.
